Coche Bomba @ Manila.

Unless you're living under the rocks the past couple of months, you must have known by now that French hardcore punk legends Coche Bomba will be hitting our shores next month. Here's the flyer for the Manila leg of their tour. Good line-up featuring rare appearances by IOV (from the 80's!), Lipslide (Dubai!) and Kill Ratio plus there will be an art exhibit by punk rockers at Kalye Art Gallery.

Rise and Fall.

What we got here is a J. Bannon-designed Rise and Fall shirt. If you don't like Rise and Fall, I question your taste of the core. R and F and Rot in Hell are the best bands out of Europe right now. I had a hard time taking a good pic of the shirt and finally decided on a close up of the name. The apps of the ipod are awesome.

Sunday afternoon - I miss the Sunday matinees at Ten02. Too many things to do to organize one though.

Sisig and relleno.

Some good sht from Greens. The classic sisig and relleno. Crispy and with the right amount of nori and raisins, this is the closest you gonna get to tasting relleno if you're a vegetarian. Take it with a cup or two of java rice and you're all set.

Bystorm news: We'll be playing the Baguio leg of the Coche Bomba Tour and have been relentlessly practicing for a couple of weeks now and we'll be all set to start the recording of the long overdue 'Sumalangitnawa' at Positivity Studios. Fun and crucial times ahead.

Let Down 'We're in this Alone'.

Rainy days. Long sleeves. Let Down 'We're in this Alone'. Cool negative take on Youth of Today's classic 'We're not in this Alone'. Black ink on beige (?) longsleeves. Really good sht. Check out LD if you haven't already.

Good stuff: finally learning how to maximize ipod touch.

Bad stuff: trying to move on.

Earth Decay.

Earth Decay is happening once again at San Pablo City. Make your preparations to go down south and enjoy the cold breeze and good music. Some good bands playing and a lot of whom I haven't seen before.

Chocolate covered world.

Chocolate donut from Z's favorite coffee shop (ssuupp?). Rainy weekend. Perfect for hanging out or reading a book. Finally got the iPod touch going again after being reset for a week. I feel good things are coming before the year ends.

Carp.

What a game. Chris Carpenter beat Doc Holliday and the powerhouse Phillies to eliminate the latter. Yankees lost yesterday to Detroit so no NY, no Philly and no Boston in the World Series. Gives me a little comfort when Boston blew it in September that neither the Yanks or Phils advance. Good way to start the day.

Play tour shirt.

Play tour shirt when they went down and conquered Cebu. Weird color combo, good design. Speaking of PLAY, we have all been eagerly awaiting for their follow-up to the three-way split but I got some discouraging news that they are not yet finished with the vocals. Bummer. it's been such a long time. Even the Rush IxDx record is not yet done even though the first half was done about 5 - 6 months ago. Don't ask me why. Still Ill has been slacking lately. Recommend some good local bands who want their releases to be pressed by Still Ill. I need something to boost my punk rock adrenaline.

Staid @ Malaysia!

It's a bummer that YOUTH OF TODAY will not be able to make it to Southeast Asia this October but STAID will push through with their plans to play Malaysia this month! Awesome news to all the kids in Malaysia. Make sure to check out these guys!

Really haven't been updating this site as often as I would want to for several reasons: Red Sox missing the playoffs because of the dreaded September swoon, lack of internet connection at work (best place to do nothing and update this blog), lack of materials, etc. Hopefully, I'll do better in the coming weeks!

Review: Tight End Zine No. 2.

Finally got my hands on this long-awaited issue of this local zine from San Pedro, Laguna. This issue contains well thought out interviews with Second Combat (Malaysia), Outlast (USA), True Colors (Belgium) among others. International youth crew flava! The interviews are a a pretty good read and gives you a good perspective on what's happening in the intl sxe community. It also features some reviews, articles, pics and some rants from the editor. A really good zine and if this is the future of our local zines, the future's so bright, we'll have to wear shades!
