Old fashioned spag.

Remember when you were young and your mom prepared a nice old-fashioned spaghetti on a lazy Sunday afternoon? Well, this one at Bodhi tastes a little something like that. Pinoy styled sauce (a little sweeter than your usual tomato-based sauce) and their vegie meat consists of these tuna-like flakes instead of the usual ground vegie meat variant. Pretty cool huh?

Crime fightin'.

Just watched the Green Hornet movie with the funny Seth Rogen and Jay Choi in it with the "Jew Hunter" as the villain. Good sht. Could use more explosions and car chases though. Best part was when asked what was the name of the masked vigilante, Rogen said.."He shall be known as the GREEN... BEE." Hell yes.

Royal Rumble.

Towards The End rippin it up last night. Cool Floorpunch shirt to boot.

Had an awesome Saturday night: Bystorm practice, Napoli's, playing an awesome gig at CFA with a lot of really cool bands, hangout, coffee. My only gripe is that my foot went inside a sewer hole in front of the venue. Sht. Also had a great time singing along to the 'Sick People' cover by Towards The End and watching Isvarah and the reunited EMPTY throw in some really sick sets...

Good stuff; Green Hornet!

From another vegie resto in Baguio.

I know I have talked a lot about Azotea Greens restaurant in this blog, which is by far the best vegie resto I encountered in Baguio (still is!) but right now I posted some pics from when we ate their last December. I forgot the name but its some sort of spiritual type resto which doesn't use garlic, onions, etc. so I must say the vegie burger is rather bland. The tofu sisig is okay as well as the sweet and sour sauce but what's amazing is the veige embutido they served. I think they put cheese on it which made it taste awesome (sorry vegan warriors!) and made it stand out from the rest. The mountain rice sucked though. Should have put regular rice instead. On the cheap rates also. It's near the market and Hotel Veniz and on the 5th floor of a mall (I think).

Jan. 29 show @ CFA.

Bystorm has not played a show for more than a month and it has really made me eager to play this upcoming show this Saturday at Center for the Arts @ Timog Avenue, Quezon City. I know I have been missing out on attending the last couple of shows and playing them, as well as posting on this blog but life is just that way I guess. Things have a way of balancing themselves and this blog will catch fire in a couple of weeks.

By the way, the BULLDOZED tape and some shirts will be available at this show so make sure to check out the merch table to save out on shipping costs.

Mainland Show,Tomorrow @ Headstock Bar.

Just got wind of this show happening tomorrow at the Headstock Bar at the corner of Araneta and Quezon Ave. in the same building as Mercury Drug. I haven't seen some of the bands in the line-up. Too bad I can't go but we'll be playing next week at the same venue so it should be a blast. I'll post the flyer soon.

PS. The rumors are true. TERROR will be playing here on March 16, 2011. More news and info on these later. Stay tuned.

Review: Armas ng Lias 'Street' CD.

I just got this from a link provided by Northern Territory. Two-piece hardcore rap duo from Marilao, Bulacan in the vein of 90's rap groups such as Death Threat and Ghetto Dogz. Awesome beats with real life lyrics with good mixing and sound quality to boot. This is only an on-line release so I'm still waiting to get a hand of the actual CD with lyrics and stuff but from what I've heard, I'm quite impressed. And I heard they will be performing live soon. Need to check that out.

Here's the link to check them out: http://www.mediafire.com/?xakyuud4j461045

Good stuff: cool, quiet Sunday morning with ANL blasting in the speakers with coffee. Yes.

Brooklyn.

Pizza time. Almost forgot this gem of a pizza from Brooklyn's Pizza. We had this one after the Forum Yearender Show along T. Morato. First time to really enjoy the pizza there. Good cheese pizza - right on the money with the thickness and sht. Even the spaghetti is really good. Should try this again.

Attitude from Italy.

I just got wind of this touring band from Italy named ATTITUDE. Tried to check out some info on them but I couldn't find any. Someone care to enlighten us?

They'll be playing Laguna on the 13th and will be playing Cebu for their annual Sinulog Jam along with THE CRIMSON CARTEL. Heard that their demo will be released soon. Should be a blast.

It's been a slow start for January and a few tweaks still need to be applied here and there but it's slowly starting to fall into place. Hopefully.

Half the Battle 'What We Have'.

Guest spot by Mr. McMarouf sporting a Half the Battle 'What We Have' shirt. I haven't seen this thing before the dude wore it in one show. I asked Easy about it and its still available in two colors. So if you're interested, send him a message or something. Awesome pocket print and solid back design.

Still having trouble adjusting to new work. Having a three (3) day migraine is just f'n insane. Not cool.

Top 10 for 2010: Z.

Z from RID and Kill Ratio shares his top 10 for last year.

- pisschrist, blockshot, and first blood shows at the start of the year
- bane live
- carburetor dung philippine tour
- diy forum anniversary show
- rush id
- still ill
- books
- bikes!
- night rides
- reason!!!

Great way to welcome 2011.

A couple of minutes after midnight struck and I was watching some more awesome fireworks in the clear Cavite sky, something really hard hit my forehead. I thought it might be a bullet but when I touched it, it was not but blood was flowing followed by immediate swelling and when we looked around, we found out that it was this round slab of rock/cement which came from those big fireworks. Sheeshh. Aside from that it was a great welcome to 2011 hanging out with family and friends!

Time to do a lot of stuff before the week starts and there will be a lot of changes this coming weeks/months and the whole year...
