Review: Standout 'For My Brothers' Demo CD-R.

Finally got hold of the recorded materials of this crew from San Pablo City. I've seen them for a couple of years now and this is the first time I actually heard them on record. This is a 3-song demo recorded on December 2008 and I don't know if they have new materials available.

Standout plays staight up hardcore with less metal influence than necessary. Think of the fast parts of Floorpunch with the "mosh" parts of Hatebreed and you get the idea. The vocals could have used a more yelled rather than screamed delivery which usually works for the music. The quality of the recording is pretty good for a demo (not an EP, please). The packaging though, leaves little to be desired. Work on the packaging boys.

Two of the songs deal with family and friends and the last song is a positive song about standing up whenever you get knocked down. Nice positive lyrics.

On a side note, I think 3 of the 4 members of the band are brothers. Cool.
